What is Kalsarpa Yoga?
Kalsarpa Yoga is formed when all seven classical planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn) fall on one side of the Rahu–Ketu axis in your birth chart. There are twelve named variants — Anant, Kulik, Vasuki, Shankhpal, Padma, Mahapadma, Takshak, Karkotak, Shankhnaad, Patak (Ghatak), Vishdhar and Shesha — each carrying a different shade of meaning depending on which houses Rahu and Ketu occupy.
Is it bad to have Kalsarpa Yoga?
Modern Vedic astrology treats Kalsarpa Yoga as a karmic challenge that demands patience and conscious work — many highly accomplished people have it. Strong placements elsewhere in the chart, especially of Jupiter, Sun and the chart lord, can dilute its effects substantially.
